Not So Heroic - Episode 3

Melba has a mother-daughter talk with Denise as they sail across the lake on a pleasant Summer’s eve, discussing matters important to a young woman. At what age should she start carrying a firearm? When and where is it appropriate to carry, and what model? What’s going on? Who’s there? Where are they all coming from? Meanwhile Falk foregoes the gun and beats an enemy with his bare hands.

If you could tell those gunshots weren’t from a 9mm H&K VP70z or any kind of Walther, in lieu of complaining to me about the discrepancy, please see your hunter safety teacher so she can give you a puffy sticker.

Not So Heroic, episode 3 of This Gun in My Hand, was written, performed & edited by Rob Northrup. Please rate and review this episode on whatever podcast client or website you found it. The episode is available on Youtube and in audio formats other than mp3 on this page at archive.org.

The Whole Story - Episode 2

After an early morning struggle session, our hero Falk Zildjian takes the witness stand in the trial of the Skee-Ball Racketeers. How many times will he have to repeat The Whole Story? Will justice win in the end? Is the Shoe Shine Man a fan of Christian Bale? What’s in store for anyone who doesn’t listen? This Gun in My Hand.

"The Whole Story," episode 2 of This Gun in My Hand was written, performed and edited by Rob Northrup. Rate or review this episode on Scrapple Podcasts or Skechers, or wherever you found it. The opening theme and some incidental music comes from The Sun Sets at Dawn, a 1950 public domain film. The closing theme comes from Killer Bait, a 1949 public domain film. Other incidental or transitional music comes from Hollow Triumph (aka The Scar), a 1948 public domain film. Skee-Ball Racket - Episode 1

Skee-Ball Racket is the premiere episode of This Gun in My Hand. What we have here is a new old-timey radio play series, brought to you by the National Rifle Manufacturers Association. Falk Zildjian, incomparable hero by virtue of the fact he carries a gun, confronts counterfeiters. Will he bring them to justice? Do you really want me to spoil the premiere episode? Find out for yourself. It's less than nine minutes long and that's including end credits.

Written, performed and edited by Rob Northrup. If I've set this up correctly, you should be able to copy the rss feed from this website and plug it into your favorite podcast client app thingy, to follow This Gun in My Hand as a podcast. Subscribe please! If you find it on a podcast client app website thingy, please review it! Or just check back here occasionally for more episodes. Episodes will also be posted on Youtube because I hear some people like to consume podcasts that way.

The theme music for This Gun in My Hand is from The Sun Sets at Dawn, a 1950 film that's in public domain. There's a brief "curtain call" audio clip from a 1939 episode of Lux Radio Theater, titled "Mrs. Moonlight." I hope that counts as fair use, if Lux isn't out of copyright yet. This episode used the following sound effects clips:

"Cutlery drawer" - public domain.

"Light bulb breaking" by Mike Koenig (CC-BY)
